Raves were first introduced in Britain in the late 1980s; it was a way to throw a dance party which was unprepared and massive. Most of the techno rave parties were organized in abandoned buildings and the news of the party speeded through the underground networks of young children who looked for thrill. The style of music was bent towards the techno club beats, with the dancing style which ranged from vigorous and athletic to sexually provocative.

Techno rave party consists of electronic music forms that are used for dancing associated with the rave scene. Most of the time, it is used to describe the techno music that heavily depends on the samples with high energy, upbeat and dance inducing. Mainly the rave music was measured to be a particular style form that was a blend of the fast break beat and more hardcore forms of techno. The hard core techno styles include happy hardcore, gabba, Luke Slater and Dave Clark.

At the techno rave parties electronic music is harmonized with the colorful lights to form different styles of dancing which include glow string, popping and locking, poi and liquid dancing. There are many of the raves who are very selective in terms if genres, they often show little or no interest in pone area while they find the other to be great satisfactory and joyous. There are different group forms with different types of interests roots like house has its roots in funk and disco while the trance has its roots in the new age and symphonic music.
