If the party is arranged for young girls, you can use the ballet party theme. You can call a local ballet studio to check if they rent out any supplies for holding a ballet dance party. If the dance party is for teenagers, you can try the celebrity theme for it. Have all the guests dress up as their favorite celebrities. If you are arranging a dance party for the adults, you can have the theme of 50s or 80s style.
Whatever theme you use, be sure to mention it on the dance party invitations so that the guests come in the appropriate attires.
While decorating, again keep in mind the theme and age group of the party guests. Helium filled balloons are an all time favorite decoration item for the parties. Tie them to chairs and tables or just let them float along the ceiling.
Use flashing lights, disco lights and fog machines to create a good environment.
A dance party does not go without music. Appoint someone to play the music throughout the party. Arrange the music play list in advance.
Have ample supply of food and drinks in stock for the dance party. Along with other drinks, be sure to offer water too. It is better to keep simple food items at dance parties because the guests will be mostly talking or dancing so sandwiches, chips and dips, etc will be more appropriate. Use long buffet tables for keeping the food items.
